eSIM for Turkey

Skip roaming bills and airport SIM queues. A Mango eSIM for Turkey is provisioned in under 30 seconds after you pay. Do this on Wi-Fi at home, before you fly. Wi-Fi is required to download the eSIM. On iPhone: Settings, then Cellular or Mobile Data, then Add eSIM (it may say Set Up Cellular). If you see Other Options, tap that, then Use QR Code. Your usual number stays for calls and texts. Unlimited data with a fair-use throttle means maps, WhatsApp, and boarding passes keep working all day; we never cut you off mid-trip.

Turkey: prepare your eSIM before departure

Since July 2025, Turkey's telecoms regulator (BTK) has blocked access from Turkish networks to the websites and apps of many international eSIM providers, according to the Freedom of Expression Association (İFÖD), which published the BTK decision numbers. BTK has not published a consolidated list. Do not rely on being able to buy, install or manage a travel eSIM after landing: buy and install before departure, while you have reliable Wi-Fi, and save the installation email and support details offline. This is advice about access to provider websites and apps, not a claim that eSIM connections are blocked or that Mango is exempt. As of 6 October 2026 these restrictions were still reported; check current guidance before travelling to Istanbul, Antalya or elsewhere in Turkey.

A local Turkish SIM is a separate option with its own registration rules. Operators register a new line against your passport. According to Turkey's regulator BTK, a phone brought from abroad can be used for 120 days from your entry date without IMEI registration; BTK says unregistered devices are then blocked from Turkish networks. If you take out a Turkish line as a visitor, BTK says the operator pairs your phone's IMEI with that number when you sign up. The e-Devlet 'IMEI Kaydet' service is for people with a Turkish ID or foreigner ID number. Ask the operator about current rules and any fee before a long stay; we do not quote a fee or promise an exemption. (Rules checked 6 October 2026.)

Does Mango eSIM work in Turkey?
Yes. Turkey is in the Mango coverage catalogue (Europe). Choose a Visit plan for Turkey only, or Africa & Middle East Loop if you're hopping nearby countries.
How do I install an eSIM for Turkey?
After checkout you get a QR code by email. Yes. Mango never cuts data. Each plan has a daily high-speed allowance, from 500 MB/day up to 5 GB/day depending on the plan. Past it, speed drops for the rest of that day — still enough for maps, messaging, and light browsing. Full speed resets at midnight UTC.
